Mortgage Hub
A revolutionary & innovative mortgage web application, designed to improve the speed of applying for mortgages.
As the Front End Technical Lead on Target's Mortgage Hub project, I led the delivery of a marketable (MMP) version of the product, aligning with the company's goal to pitch to potential clients. This involved re-evaluating existing technical debt, providing user stories and context to all tickets, and defining the requirements for the MMP, thus paving the way for the product's market readiness.
Upon joining the Mortgage Hub project, I identified and addressed the challenges of ambiguity and low team morale resulting from personnel changes and shifts in working methods. By providing direction, guidance, and motivation to the team, I took charge of the backlog of pull requests, facilitated weekly front-end dev meetings, and enhanced ticket quality through detailed specifications, thus uplifting team morale and productivity.
Navigating the downsizing of the AND team and the introduction of new permanent client-side employees posed significant challenges. I managed these uncertainties by fostering open communication, actively listening to new team members, and creating technical solution tickets to validate their ideas while emphasizing the unchangeable project goals.
Throughout this project, I honed my interpersonal skills, swiftly establishing successful working relationships with new team members to ensure seamless knowledge transfer. Additionally, I designed and implemented a comprehensive onboarding schedule, including workshops and one-on-one sessions, to equip everyone with the necessary information for project continuity beyond our engagement.
